Bourbon Whiskies
Bourbon whiskies are distilled from at least 51% maize (also called 'corn'), traditionally with enough barley for fermentation and to produce whiskey flavor, and commonly a third grain for accent. There are different types of Bourbon whiskey.
High-barley Bourbon Whiskey
High-barley Bourbon whiskey is distilled from a mash containing at least 20% malted barley, some rye or wheat, or both, and at least 51% maize.
Classic Bourbon Whiskey
Classic Bourbon whiskey is distilled from a mash containing at least 10% malted barley, 10% - 19% rye, and at least 51% maize.
