True Taadi: fermented from palm blossom nectar – both to be consumed locally as a fermentate, and distilled into Indian arrack and Ceylon arrack.

Sugarcane Taadi: fermented from sugarcane sap – rarely marketed as a fermentate, it is mostly distilled into either Batavia arrack or Brazilian cachaça.
