True Rums
True Rums are distilled from treacle taadi, or fermented molasses.
True rums of different types exist.
Robust Rum is typically pot-distilled from long-fermented, dundered, and mucked, molasses. This produces the intense, rummy flavor classically found in many rums centuries ago.

Medium Rum is typically pot-distilled from fermented molasses. This produces moderately-rummy flavor.

Blended Rum is made of light rum mixed with a smaller amount of medium rum, or robust rum, to create a blended rum of intermediate flavor.

Light Rum is typically highly column-distilled from fermented molasses. This produces rum of almost no traditional rum flavor, but that ages more quickly.
