This is a test for understanding of traditional, American mixology – as the state of the art was around the year 1900. This test is not an exact test for what is taught in Elemental Mixology courses (since they reflect many modern advantages and ingredients). But, this traditional body of knowledge is the foundation upon which Elemental Mixology has been built.
WARNING: this test is not easy. It will probably be a frustrating experience for those whose education is limited to tending a bar – including attending BarSmarts or the Bar Institute. Many start, few finish.
